“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6

Today is the first day of camp. There is excitement, anticipation, and probably a few unknowns. Students are arriving with different expectations. Some are eager and ready to engage. Others may be carrying burdens, doubts, fears, or struggles that no one else can see.

As leaders, it’s natural to wonder what this week will hold. Will students connect? Will they open up? Will God move in their lives?

The encouraging truth is that God was already at work before anyone arrived. Long before the buses arrived, God knew every student who would be here. He knows their stories, their struggles, their questions, and their potential. He has been pursuing them long before this week began.

Your responsibility today is not to manufacture life change. It is to faithfully show up, love students well, create space for relationships, and trust God to do what only He can do. The conversations, worship services, games, and small-group moments are all tools God can use, but He is the one who changes hearts.

As camp begins, focus less on the outcome and more on being available. Pay attention to the student sitting alone, the one who seems disengaged, or the one who is nervous about being here. Often, God uses simple acts of presence and kindness to open doors for deeper ministry later in the week.

Remember: this week is not starting from scratch. God has already begun a work in these students’ lives, and He invites you to be part of what He is doing.

      • Water Balloon Toss
            • Students will pair up with someone from their same team and each pair will get one water balloon. Everyone will organize in two lines facing their partner and everyone at the same time will toss their water balloon to their partner. Anyone who has a water balloon that breaks will be out but each pair that is still in will take a step back. We will continue to do this until there is one pair left
      • Points – there is a possibility of a team having more than one winning pair, we are just focusing on the last three pairs no matter their team

            • 3rd place – 100

Teams will send three students at a time to soak sponges in the bucket full of water and then run to the empty bucket and squeeze the water in there and hand their sponge to the next student who will run to the bucket full of water and repeat. Teams will continue to do this until the bucket is filled up to the line

            • 3rd place – 100
      • SlipnSlide Connect Four
          • We will be having four teams going at once and this will be a sudden death bracket style competition. Each team will have four people playing and the other teammates will be cheering them on. The student will slide down the slipnslide to the Connect Four and put their piece in, then they will run and tag the next teammate who will continue the cycle until someone has made four in a row
